Fergal O'Brien will face defending champion Mark Selby in the first round of the World Snooker Championships.

The Dubliner set a new world record last night, as he qualified for the Crucible.

He trailed David Gilbert by 6 frames to 3, going into the final session of their final round qualifier.

However, he fought back to bring the first-to-10 match to 9-frames all.

The final frame lasted just under 2 hours, which is a new world record.

The length of the frame- 1 hour, 59 minutes and 40 seconds, is 19 minutes longer than the previous record.

The Dubliner spoke afterwards about how big a win it is:

Mark Allen, meanwhile, will face Jimmy Robertson in the first round.
