Everton boss Ancelotti fined but avoids touchline ban

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has been fined £8,000 but has avoided a touchline suspension after admitting an FA misconduct charge.

He was shown a red card after confronting referee Chris Kavanagh following Sunday's Premier League draw with Manchester United.

"The Everton FC manager admitted that his language and/or behaviour on the field of play at the end of the fixture amounted to improper conduct and also accepted the standard penalty," said an FA statement.

Ancelotti was incensed by a decision to not allow Dominic Calvert-Lewin's late deflected goal stand in the closing stages of the game.

The officials decided that Gylfi Sigurdsson, who was on the ground in an offside position, was blocking David de Gea's line of sight on the ball.

The Italian coach won't be banned from the touchline for this weekend's Premier League clash with his former club Chelsea.
