The current batch of ERC monies will not be paid to the six countries taking part in the Heineken European Cup.
So the IRFU miss out on the time being on their share of around 15 million euro which is due.
Of course the future of the competition is in doubt with the English, French and Welsh all expressing doubts over union/club control and television rights.
ERC reckons it'll need reserves of cash to fight prospective legal battles.
The ERC Board meets again on 19th February.
