The Dublin under 21 footballers cruised into a Leinster semi final with a 2-28 to 0-3 win over Carlow last night. Dessie Farrell's men started off on the front foot and opened up a 0-9 to 0-1 inside the opening 15 minutes despite playing into the wind. Ciarán Kilkenny, Conor McHugh, Michael Deegan, Niall Scully and Shane Carthy were all on target as Dubs forged into a commanding lead.
By half time they extended their lead to 1-12 to 0-2 after Eric Lowndes had found the back of the net shortly before the break. It was more of the same in the second half with Deegan's 39th minute goal seeing Dubs home with 31 points to spare. The Dubs will face Longford in the semi-final once again after they beat Laois by 1-13 to 1-12 after extra-time in Portlaoise. Offaly shocked defending champions Kildare with a 13 points to 9 win in Athy to set up a meeting with Meath or Louth - they'll have to meet again after they drew in Dundalk.
