The top job in Dublin hurling manager remains vacant after the county board chairman Sean Shanley postponed the appointment of a new boss.
No decision was reached at last night’s county board meeting with club delegates told "unforeseen circumstances" has arisen.
The county’s management committee was meant to choose between former football boss Pat Gilroy and Cuala’s All-Ireland club winning manager Mattie Kenny.
The plan was then to put that person forward to a full county board meeting for ratification.
Kenny's Cuala return to action in Dublin SHC when they face St Brigids this weekend. Ger Cunningham's successor is expected to be in place before then.
The reason for the delay is unclear, although suggestions that it was due to a split vote at the management committee meeting appear wide of the mark.
