Roddy Collins has been confirmed as the new manager of Derry City. Collins guided Athlone Town to promotion to the Premier Division last season but left at the end of the season. The 52 year old Dub takes over from Declan Devine, who parted company with the Candystripes last month. Former Derry captain Peter Hutton has been appointed as his assistant.
A statement on the club’s website read: “The Chairman and Board of Directors of Derry City Football Club would like to announce that a new managerial team consisting of Roddy Collins (Manager) and Peter Hutton (Assistant Manager) has, today, been put in place.”
Derry finished fourth in the league last season, qualifying for the Europa League preliminary stages.
