Michael Cheika has been appointed as the new Australia head coach.
The former Leinster Heineken Cup winning boss has signed a three-year deal.
He starts his new role straight away- he flies out with the squad for the tour of Europe this Friday.
That tour will pit Leinster’s two Heineken Cup winning coaches against each other, as Joe Schmidt’s Ireland side take on Cheika’s Australia.
The appointment comes less than a year before the start of the World Cup.
He replaces Ewen McKenzie, who stepped down last weekend after the Wallabies loss to New Zealand.
