Lisbon will to host this season’s UEFA Champions League final on August 23.

The Portuguese capital will be home to the tournament from the quarter final stage onwards.

Istanbul's Ataturk Stadium was due to host this year’s decider, but will do so instead next year.

The Europa League will follow a similar format, with the quarter-finals onwards being played in Germany.

UEFA’s Executive Committee ratified the proposals on Wednesday.

Four Champions League last-16 ties remain outstanding, including those involving Chelsea and Manchester City.

Those games have been penciled in for August 7-8.

From that point onwards, the remaining eight sides will decamp to the Portuguese capital for single-leg quarter-finals.

Istanbul won't be deprived of a first Champions League final since 2005; the Ataturk will resume hosting duties in 2021.

St. Petersburg will host in 2022, Munich in 2023 and Wembley in 2o24.

The Europa League will follow a similar format but spread across the cities of Cologne, Gelsenkirchen, Frankfurt and Duisburg.

The ties involving Inter-Getafe and Roma-Sevilla will be played exclusively in Germany. The six outstanding last-16 second legs will all take place in their original host cities.

Cologne will host this season's final on August 21.

The quarter-final draws will take place in Nyon in mid-July.
