As Andy Lee described it on OTB AM, the Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin rematch will go down as a classic.

But it wasn't without controversy with the judges' final scorecards attracting disagreement from some quarters as Alvarez won by majority decision.

The first fight ended in a controversial draw and with this result, it seems Canelo and GGG will look to make it a trilogy at some point in the future.

Former two weight world champion Paulie Malignaggi and boxing journalist Declan Taylor joined us on Off The Ball to share their reactions to the fight and decision.

"I thought Canelo did better in this fight than he did the first time around," said Malignaggi.

"Having said that, anyone with a reasonable brain wouldn't be able to give Canelo more than six rounds.

"I think the first time around, if you gave Golovkin a draw - which they did - they robbed him. And I think this time around if you gave Golovkin a draw, it could have been fair. A draw could have been fair or a Golovkin win.

"I don't think Canelo won enough rounds to win the fight. But with no knock-downs, you have to win seven rounds to win the fight. I felt once again, they robbed Gennady Golovkin."

Taylor agreed with both points that Alvarez was much improved but that "Golovkin was still the winner" in this rematch.

However, he added that "I don't think it's a robbery really. You can see the draw perhaps would have been the more favourable decision."
