Republic of Ireland International Callum Robinson has joined Championship promotion hopefuls West Brom on loan until the end of the season.

The 24-year-old arrives at The Hawthorns having made 16 Premier League appearances this campaign, notably netting at Stamford Bridge as the Blades came from two goals down to earn a draw.

A Republic of Ireland international, Robinson played regular Sky Bet Championship football for Preston North End in his three permanent seasons at Deepdale, before making the move to Bramall Lane in the summer.

Versatile

A versatile forward who has been capped for his country on 12 occasions, he scored in the friendly against New Zealand last November. Robinson came through Aston Villa’s academy before loan spells at Preston, Bristol City, and a second stint with the Lilywhites, helped earn him a permanent deal in Lancashire.
West Brom will be hoping the arrival of Callum Robinson gives the team a much-needed lift, despite only just being overtaken at the top of the Championship table by Leeds, the west midlands side have not won a league game since mid-December.
Appearances have been hard to come by for the Ireland International, having only hit the net once in all competitions since that goal against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
Robinson could feature in Saturday's game against basement side Luton, who sprung a midweek surprise by getting the better of Wayne Rooney's Derby.
Should Robinson aid a resurgence in form for West Brom that could lead to promotion to the Premier League, it could only be good news for Irish football fans to have another in-form striking option ahead of the crucial Euro 2020 play-offs at the end of March.
