West Brom have appointed Alan Irvine as their new manager on a 12 month rolling contract.
Irvine is currently the academy manager at Everton, where he has also worked as 1st team coach.
Irvine had two spells as a manager, with Preston and then Sheffield Wednesday. The Scot was sacked after two years in charge of Preston, and was then relieved of his duties with Wednesday after just 13 months.
It was reported that Tim Sherwood was already offered the West Brom job, but after a dispute over personal terms for him and his staff, talks broke down.
