On the eve of the hotly anticipated Bohemians versus Shamrock Rovers Dublin Derby, the Northside club have beaten their arch-rivals to the signing of striker Eoghan Stokes.
The 21-year-old was released by Leeds United where he had spent five years rising through the academy. He did play one Championship game back in August before leaving Elland Road.
Stokes played for the Hoops in a friendly at the weekend but after a training session with them, opted for the Gypsies in the hope he will get more first team opportunities.
He can play in a number of attacking positions and had a good record with the Irish u19s, scoring 5 goals in 9 appearances. Stokes will go into the Bohs squad for tomorrow night's SSE Airtricity League Premier Division season opener subject to international clearance.
