Brian O'Driscoll impressed by Joey Carbery's early Munster impact

As the rugby season begins to get into full swing as Autumn takes hold, Brian O'Driscoll is back on Off The Ball and he joined Ger Gilroy and Dave McIntyre to talk about his impressions of the early season and the major stories from the oval shaped world so far.

At the end of last season, the Ireland and Leinster legend had been keen to see Joey Carbery make the move from Leinster to get some game-time at No 10 with the 2019 Rugby World Cup closing in fast.

The talented young player has since joined Munster where he will eventually form an exciting half-back partnership with the currently injured Conor Murray.

Munster are in action tonight against Ospreys with Carbery slated to start for the first time after a couple of substitute appearances including in the defeat to Glasgow Warriors last time out. 

BOD was impressed by the former Leinster player's showing despite the loss. 

"In fairness, [Munster] were played off the park in the first half and then Joey Carbery came on," he said.

"His pack got their act together and gave him a better platform. But he looked pretty impressive I thought.

"There was a nice bit of variety to his game, he looks as though he's going to create things and it's going to take time for him to properly get to know their way of playing, get to know the players and I think he's done pretty well for his first couple of outings."

BOD also discussed the coaching adventures of his former Ireland team-mates Ronan O'Gara and Paul O'Connell as well as the issue of concussion and
