Fans should spare a thought for Alan Brogan, footballer of the year the last time Dublin claimed the All-Ireland title in 2011.
The Dubs forward has been frustrated by groin and injury problems since the Boys in Blue crashed out against Mayo in last yearÂ’s semi-final.
Dublin got their revenge against the men from the west in yesterdayÂ’s final but Alan had to watch from the bench.
He told 98FM he was fit and ready to go for a few weeks but was just happy to see the team win the All-Ireland.
Brother Bernard told 98FM Sport, “He’ll be back for another one I’d say. He won’t leave it at that!”
