The issue of Wes Hoolahan’s absence- or inclusion- in the Republic of Ireland team has been the cause célèbre in recent years.
Ireland boss Martin O’Neill has often left the Dubliner out of the team for important games- like he did against Georgia for last weekend’s World Cup qualifier. Hoolahan then started the home defeat to Serbia on Tuesday at the Aviva Stadium.
Former Ireland midfielder Keith Andrews joined Jamie Moore on Now That’s What I Call Sport today, to look back on those two qualifiers, discuss where they leave Ireland’s World Cup bid- and to give his opinion on the “Wes Hoolahan issue”.
