Things might not have worked out at international level for Ireland's Burnley contingent with the World Cup ended but at club level, Sean Dyche's side are reaching ever great heights.

Keith Andrews and Nathan Murphy were joined on the Football Show by one of Jeff Hendrick, Stephen Ward and Robbie Brady's English team-mates, one Ashley Barnes to discuss the excellent form this season which has pushed Burnley up to sixth, above the likes of Tottenham and just three points off fourth placed Arsenal.

"They're top lads," said Barnes of Brady and Hendrick, before joking, "I think half our squad is Irish".

"I've always got on with the Irish as Keith [Andrews] knows well. On a serious note, they've been tremendous since they've joined the club.

"Every week they're getting better and better and they're great around the dressing room.

"They're involved in World Cup battles and stuff obviously and unfortunately for Ireland, they missed out in the playoffs but they have that experience as well so it's not just stepping into the Premier League and I think they've already had that experience. Premier League is different but they're people who can step up to the mark and they step up week in and week out and give us good performances and go on and win us matches. That helps us go up the table."
