The Gunners were made sweat at the end, as they played the last 14 minutes with 10 men when Mathieu Debuchy was sent off.
But they held firm to ensure their progression.
They will be in the draw for the Champions League group stages, which takes place later today.
It wasn’t all good news for the Gunners, though.
Striker Olivier Giroud has been ruled out of action until the start of next year, after he underwent surgery yesterday on a broken leg.
