New Dublin hurling manager Pat Gilroy has confirmed his management team for 2018.
Former Dublin football manager Gilroy was named as Ger Cunningham’s replacement with the hurlers last month.
He will be joined by former Galway hurling boss Anthony Cunningham in his backroom team.
Cunningham guided Galway to a Leinster title in 2012 and to the All-Ireland finals in 2012 and 2015 in his time in charge.
Former Dublin football manager Mickey Whelan will also join Gilroy’s backroom staff.
Whelan was Dublin football boss in the late 90s, while also working as a selector under Gilroy for the Dublin footballers, helping the Boys in Blue to the All-Ireland in 2011.
Another member of Gilroy’s backroom staff with the Dublin footballers, Paddy O’Donoghue, will also join the hurling setup next year.
Gilroy’s first game in charge will be this weekend in Boston, as the Boys in Blue face Galway in the semi-final of the AIG Fenway Classic.
Meanwhile, Danny Sutcliffe, who has opted out of the Dublin hurling panel for the past two years, has been included in the Dublin squad for the Fenway Classic.
