Football writer Andy Mitten says there is no feud between Paul Pogba and Jose Mourinho.

The 24 year old picked up a contact injury during training last Friday, which ruled him out of United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool this weekend and is now a doubt for their Champions League tie with Sevilla tomorrow night.

Speaking on OTBAM this morning, Mitten says Pogba’s own form , as well as several injuries, have led to his struggles this season rather than any falling out with the manager.

“Pogba’s had illness, he’s having his most difficult time since he joined Manchester United. There’s not an issue between him and the manager, I know that for certain. But he needs to get his form back, he needs to be playing, and he needs to be standing out in games like Liverpool at Old Trafford. He hasn’t done that since joining’.

Mitten also believes that the Frenchman’s involvement is not only threatened by injury, but he could also see less time on the pitch due to the impressive performance of midfielder Scott McTominay alongside Nemanja Matic at the weekend.

“McTominay is more predictable than Pogba. In Mourinho’s eyes, that’s a positive.  Pogba is a player who dares, who takes chances, who tries to beat a man. You’re not going to get that from McTominay, but you can see why Mourinho likes a player that”.
