United We Stand Editor Andy Mitten joined OTBAM this morning to discuss Manchester United’s 2-1 win over Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, claiming Jose Mourinho’s side’s victory shows they’re gaining consistency that has been missing this season.

“It’s been a very good couple of weeks for Manchester United. People have been saying there hasn’t been enough great Manchester United moments. There was at Selhurst Park (United’s 3-2 win over Crystal Palace) last week, and that spirit carried forward onto Saturday (2-1 win over Liverpool).

Andy Mitten: “Difference between Man United and City this season is consistency”

"It’s been a season of mood swings among United; you have two or three really good weeks and then you have a bad week. People start to question the players and the manager, but there’s a real high around at the moment.

“That’s probably the difference between United and City this season, (Mourinho) just needs more consistency from more of his players”.

Mitten also said United, who have now moved nine points ahead of Chelsea in fifth place in the race for a Champions League place, can now use this form to push on for the rest of the season, starting tomorrow with their second Champions  League second-leg tie against Sevilla.

“The league position looks very strong, so strong that United can focus on the cup competitions starting with Sevilla. The 0-0 draw (in the first leg) was not a good performance, but it was a good result. They’ve lost once at home in the last year, and that was against Manchester City:  Sevilla are not Manchester City, so I’m confident going into tomorrow night”.
