Ok so we all agree that transfer fees in this window have just become ridiculous! But is this the most ridiculous one yet??

It's understood Thomas Lemar could still end up at Arsenal - after the Premier League side offered Monaco up to 92-million-pounds for the midfielder. That's 100 million yoyos in our money!

He moved to the posh French club from Caen in 2015 for a measly £3.4 million

It's thought that would allow Alexis Sanchez to go to Manchester City in a move worth 60-million.

12:17PM The Ox joins Liverpool

Liverpool FC have completed the signing of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal. The England international penned a long-term contract with the Reds.

Jurgen Klopp is delighted to sign the midfielder who he admits he has long been an admirer of: “I am really, really happy we have got Alex signed. Since the last game I have been waiting and hoping we could make this transfer - and when I got the news he was ours it was fantastic.

“I remember the first time I saw him play live - it was at Dortmund in 2014 and he came on as a sub that day and made a big impact. He stood out immediately because of his pace and skills and his attitude in such a big game for a young player; I remember him chasing back to make a brilliant challenge on Mkhitaryan in the box to save a certain goal.

“We won that game but lost the return match at Arsenal when he started and played well, I think he hit the post. Since then I have followed him and when I heard it may be possible to sign him I didn't need to think twice.

“I hear a lot of talk about positions but let's talk about the player; he is someone with really good abilities who always gives everything for his team. A player that is positive and willing to take risks to try and make positive things happen.

“He may still be young but he has a lot of experience in the Premier League, Champions League and for his country. Already he is a very, very good player and I think he has the mentality and desire to get even better - and that excites me.

“This is someone making a tough decision to leave one great club and come to another great club and I think he had many options, so to get him means I am delighted.

“He didn't make an easy decision but I think he made a great one to go on this journey with this squad of talented boys and our great supporters. I welcome him to the Liverpool family.”

11:49AM Paul McStayin'

Reading captain Paul McShane has agreed a contract extension that will keep him at the club until the summer of 2019.

Royals boss Jaap Stam said, “Macca entered the last year of his contract this season and it is important to ensure your experienced players remain part of your squad and help the club move forward.

“His mentality was so important to the team as a whole, as was his role in helping us play the ball out from the back – and I’m very pleased he has agreed to remain a key part of this squad and what we want to achieve at Reading.”

Since arriving at the Bet 365 Stadium in 2007 he's made 334 appearances for the club, scoring 20 times in all competitions.

Roma, Barcelona, Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea are among the potential suitors for the 2016 PFA Player of the Year.

In May, Mahrez made it clear that his days at the club were numbered telling the BBC:

“Out of the huge admiration and respect I hold for Leicester I wanted to be totally honest and transparent. I have informed the club that I feel now is the time for me to move on.

“I had a good discussion with the chairman last summer and we agreed at that time that I would stay for another year in order to help the club as best as I could following the transition of winning the title and in the Champions League.

“I've had the four best seasons of my career at Leicester and have loved every moment. I feel immense pride to have been a part of what we have achieved during my time at the club, culminating in becoming Premier League champions.

“The relationship I share with the club and our amazing fans are something I will treasure forever and I truly hope they will understand and respect my decision.”

07:09AM Good Morning football fans

It is the day football fans either enjoy or endure. The drama of the deadline often times fails to materialize.

This year will likely be different as the transfer window closes tonight but there are still some deals to be done.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's expected to complete his move from Arsenal to Liverpool by 11pm.

There are still doubts about the futures of his current team-mate - Alexis Sanchez wants to leave the Gunners - they say they will not entertain any bids.

Riyad Mahrez could be heading set to leave Leicester - the Algeria team say they've released him to finalise a move to an unnamed club.
