Ciaran Whelan is regarded as the best Dublin footballer of his generation not to have won an All-Ireland title.
The midfield hardman, known to the Hill 16 faithful simply as Wheelo, did amass a total of 6 Leinster titles in an inter-county career spanning 13 years from 1996 to 2009.
Whelan faced the men from the Royal county seven times in the Leinster Championship. He was on the winning side four times, drew once and lost two.
Those two defeats were the only matches in which the midfielder faced Meath in Leinster finals (1996 & 2001).
Whelan was at the launch of the 2014 Bord Gais Energy Legends Tours at Croke Park and spoke to 98FM Sport's Stephen Doyle about being bullied by Meath men, bullying Meath men himself and his thoughts on this Sunday's final.
