The feats performed by the Dublin footballers in 2013 were always going to be hard to repeat and so it has proved to be this year.

As well as bringing Sam Maguire back to the capital, the Dubs claimed the Leinster title and the Allianz National League crown losing just one match all year.

Already the Boys in Blue have tasted defeat twice against both Derry and Cork in regular league fixtures while a third defeat beckoned until Eoghan O'Gara found the net very late to snatch a draw.

That said, Jim Gavin has guided his team to the league semi-finals again where they take on Cork this Sunday at Croke Park.
