Homeowners in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown area will see a reduction in their Local Property tax bills next year.
Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council has voted to cut property tax by the maximum amount of 15%.
It's expected to benefit around 6,500 homes in the area, after Fianna Fail, Fine Gael and People Before Profit proposed motions to apply the discount.
Councillors voted 24 to 16 in favour of the cut.
The change will mean a drop in income for the council, however Cllr Frank McNamara says there was a surplus last year.
