House building in Dublin has stalled according to a new report.

The latest Dublin Economic Monitor, which is produced on behalf of the four Dublin local authorities, shows the rate of house completions fell by 13.7 percent during April, May and June to just 1,628.

It was the first quarter of negative growth recorded since 2015.

The report also found commencement notices had dropped. They're down by 18.5 percent to 1,589.

Meanwhile rents are rising.  The figures for quarter two show they're up 7 percent on last year to €1,713 euro a month on average.

That's the highest level recorded since the series began in 2007.
