Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie

Sky has released the trailer for their upcoming documentary series on the murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier.

Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie is a five-part doc due out this year.

French television producer Sophie Toscan du Plantier was murdered in West Cork in December 1996.

The 39-year-old was beaten to death outside her holiday home and the crime remains unsolved.

While local journalist Ian Bailey was arrested twice and convicted in absentia in France for the murder, he maintains his innocence.

Bailey was convicted and sentenced to 25 years in French prison however, Ireland's High Court ruled that he couldn't be extradited.

The murder of Sophie Toscan du Plantier was the subject of popular Audible podcast West Cork.

Murder at the Cottage: The Search for Justice for Sophie is the first of two documentaries due out this year on the case.

Sky have yet to announce a release date.
