The numbers of families becoming homeless outside the capital is at an unprecedented level.
In their review of 2018, Focus Ireland says that almost ten thousand people across the country are without a home as the new year looms.
They've worked with over 15 thousand people seeking accommodation over the past 12 months and are calling on the government to do more on the issue.
Spokesperson for Focus Ireland, Roughan MacNamara says despite the charity's efforts, the number of families entering homelessness has increased.
"Most of the people becoming homeless are coming from the private rented sector," he said.
"They're losing their accommodation through either illegal evictions or rents or rising and they just cant afford the rents."
