Sinn Féin is publishing a bill today that aims to end co-living.
In 2018, former Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy changed planning laws to allow for the controversial living arrangement.
A number of shared living projects, that involves residents using communal kitchens and living areas, are currently in the works in Dublin.
The party says the proposed legislation will outlaw co-living and build to rent accommodation.
Housing spokesperson Eoin O'Broin says the model is unacceptable;
"People shouldn't live in shoe boxes. 12 square metres for people who don't know, that's a car parking space and the idea that it's acceptable in our city for young people or even not so young people to be paying 1,200, 1,300 euro a month for a parking space shouldn't be permissible under our planning law."
The new Housing Minister, Darragh O'Brien, has admitted he isn't a fan of the housing model and is currently carrying out a review of it.
