The app is set to be in a similar style to TikTok!
The Music Mogul and TV icon revealed he's launching a new app with music producer Max Martin,
who's written massive hits such as 'Hit Me, Baby' for Britney Spears.
The app is believed to be called 'StemDrop'.
Speaking of the Launch of the new app 'StemDrop', Simon said as reported by the Daily Mail: 'So this really is the heart of the idea of StemDrop,
just imagine somebody who is on TikTok, trying to get some traction, who now has the ability to make their own version of a song written by the most successful songwriters of our time. It's very compelling".
Speaking of working on the new project with producer Max Martin, Simon recalled the time he asked Max if he could have 'Hit Me, Baby' for his band Five, to which producer Max Martin denied Simons request, giving the track to Britney.
Simon recalled the incident saying:
"I think that song would have been a hit for anyone. I knew it would have been a hit for Five, it would have been a hit for TLC, it was a hit for Britney Spears".
Simon continued: 'There have been country versions, alternative versions. It was just a hit song, no question about it, and having that first hit song is the most important part of an artist's career, and also the most difficult part of breaking anyone's career".
There's no set date for when the app is to launch, but it will be interesting to see what kind of talent the iconic talent judge finds on it!
