A sheep is bleating with joy after being rescued on Lambay Island off the north Dublin coast.

The 7 month old wooly lamb became stuck after falling 10 metres down a cliff yesterday evening.

The Irish Coast Guard got the unusual call and its boat from Howth headed to the island.

The crew found "Lucky Louis" but he wasn't initially appreciating the attention and made for a nearby cave.

Two of the Coast Guard crew managed to bring him back to the boat and from there he was transported back to the Lambay Island harbour.

A coast guard spokesman said: "All's wool that ends wool."
