Seven people have been arrested in Tallaght as part of a Garda Day of Action targeting Organised Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour.
Six houses were searched by Gardaí from the Tallaght District at 7 o'clock this morning and seven men were arrested.
Heroin and crack cocaine worth over 40-thousand euro were seized, as well as 10-thousand euro in cash.
Two were arrested in connection with firearms offences, four in connection with sale and supply of drugs, and one on foot of a warrant.
Ongoing Investigation
A garda spokesperson says: "Seven people have been arrested by Gardaí in Tallaght as part of ongoing investigations into organised criminal activity and anti-social behaviour in West Tallaght
"At 7:00am this morning six residential properties in the West Tallaght area were searched by Gardaí from the Tallaght District resulting in the arrest of seven (7) males.
"In the course of the searches controlled drugs, including quantities Heroin and Crack Cocaine (analysis pending) worth in excess of €40,000, and €10,000 in cash was also seized.
"Those arrested are currently being held at Garda Stations in south west Dublin.
"The operation was led by the District Detective Unit and Community Policing Units at Tallaght Garda Station in collaboration with community stakeholders and South Dublin County Council.
