Serena Williams remains on course to draw level with Australian Margaret Court's all-time record of 24 Grand Slam tennis singles titles.

Williams reached her 11th-decider at SW19 with a comfortable straight sets, 6-1, 6-2, victory against the unseeded Barbora Strycova.

Former world number one Simona Halep awaits in Saturday's final, the Romanian needed just 72-minutes to beat Elina Svitolina 6-1 6-3 to reach her first ever Wimbledon final.

“It feels good to be in the final again after the year I have had,” said the 37-year-old, who lost in last year's Wimbledon and US Open deciders.

“I have just needed matches to feel good and do what I do best and that is play tennis

“I love what I do. I have a great job and I am still pretty good at it. I get a remarkable experience every time.”

Halep has now made finals on hard courts, clay and grass and the seventh seed feels she has the game to trouble Williams this weekend.

"I will believe that I have my chance to win against her, of course, I respect a lot what she has done and what she's doing.

"But now I feel stronger mentally facing her. We will see what is going to happen. It's just a big challenge for me."
