Plans have been lodged for an apartment block in Ringsend, that's almost as tall as Liberty Hall.
The project involves knocking down one and two storey buildings on the site on York Road and replacing them with 48 apartments over 15 storeys.
That's almost as high as Liberty Hall which stands at 16 storeys, once the tallest building in the country.
The development will be made up of one, two and three-bed flats and also includes a winter garden on the roof and communal co-working space.
A group of locals have created a campaign group to oppose the high-rise plans.
They have also criticised attempts by the developer to get an exemption from providing 10 per cent social housing because of the size of the site.
The plot already has planning permission for a seven storey apartment block.

Shay Connolly is from the York Road Development community group;
"If you look it up online, you'll just see the size of it and how out of character it is. If you imagine one storey cottages being beside Liberty Hall, if you can imagine two, three schools right beside it."
