12 ducklings rescued by Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland in May have been released.
Warnings were issued by several animal welfare groups last month after it emerged ducklings were being sold for as little as five euro in Dublin.
The rescue group says the ducklings "came to the hospital because they were orphaned, attacked or kidnapped and sold."
They say the mallard ducklings will have a happy ending after a hard beginning.
Yesterday we got to release 12 mallard ducks 🤙
These ducklings came to the hospital because they were orphaned, attacked or kidnapped and sold for €5 in Dublin (remember that..)
Thankfully these guys and many more will have a happy end to a hard beginning! 🦆 pic.twitter.com/ivtg4c5Oz3— Wildlife Rehabilitation Ireland (@WildlifeRI) June 30, 2021
