The studio have plans to revamp a classic!

Warner Bros have confirmed that a remake of 'The Bodyguard' is in the works.

The original 1992 romantic drama thriller focuses on a former Secret Service agent, played by Kevin Costner, who is hired to protect a celebrity, who is played by Whitney Houston, from a stalker. It became the second-highest-grossing title at the worldwide box office in that same year, earning $411 million. It also received two Oscar nominations.

The movie gave global success to Whitney’s cover of Dolly Parton’s “I Will Always Love You,” which went on to win a Grammy.

In 2012, a stage adaptation of 'The Bodyguard' opened in London’s West End.

Warner Bros, which released the original, have appointed Sam Wrench, who was at the helm of 'Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour', to direct the remake. Jonathan A. Abrams, the writer behind 'Juror No. 2', will script the project.

No further details have been released yet, such as casting or a release date.
