A recruitment drive's underway to ensure fewer bus services are cancelled due to Covid 19 this summer.
That's according to the Junior Transport Minister who was responding to reports of passengers being left at bus stops because of virus-related staff absences.
Sinn Fein TD John Brady says it has lead to a situation where people are avoiding using certain services because they're not reliable.
Speaking in the Dail, Hildegard Naughton says staffing levels should improve soon.
"The National Transport Authority have further advised that all public transport operators have been working hard to recruit additional staff for some months and as a result, staff levels are beginning to improve gradually.
"I will continue to engage with the NTA to ensure that all operators in the bus market provide a satisfactory level of service to meet the demands of customers."
