Just another Friday morning at 98FM ?
Back in March, we put on 98FM's Best of Dublin Awards to celebrate all the best people, places and things in our city.
We asked listeners to nominate and then vote for their favourites, resulting in a glamorous event at The Dean Hotel on the 27th of March to crown the winners.
One of the categories at 98FM's Best of Dublin Awards was 'Best Dublin Moment' giving recognition the weird and wonderful events we felt defined this city in the last year.
Among those nominated were the Giant Boarding Pass At Dublin Airport, and Josie's Christmas Lights. But in the end, The Mysterious Hole on Portmarnock Beach came out on top as Dublin's Best Moment.
You know, when Virgin Media reported on a suspected crater on the beach and it turned out to be a giant hole dug by two lads the day before ?
lads I’m in bits. Virgin Media news is after reporting on a hole on portmarnnock beach that ‘Could be the aftermath of a cosmic event’. Some fellas literally dug it the day before with a kid’s shovel
The way your man was talking about the rock being an asteroid had me in tears https://t.co/dNFNanF8Mn pic.twitter.com/GoTTNkcA5U

Well, a few weeks after 'The Mysterious Hole On Portmarnock Beach' took home the award for 98FM's Best Dublin Moment, we decided to go out on location and recreate that historic event.
And of course, to treat the unsuspecting walkers and swimmers out on Portmarnock Beach at 9 o'clock in the morning to our own rendition of Atomic Kitten's lesser known hit, Hole Again.
Never a dull moment ?
