Grand National winning jockey Rachael Blackmore will return to the saddle at Galway on Saturday after three months out because of injury.

The Tipperary native suffered a fractured ankle and a hip injury from a fall at Killarney back in July.

Blackmore will ride the Henry de Bromhead trained Balko des Flos in a handicap hurdle on the weekend card at Ballybrit.

Blackmore has ridden Balko des Flos on ten previous occasions for de Bromhead and the horse finished second in the Aintree Grand National behind Blackmore's winning mount Minella Times.

Before the injury, Blackmore had ridden 22 winners over jumps this season.

The 32-year-old has had an incredible year.

In addition to becoming the first female jockey to ride a Grand National winner, she rode six winners at the Cheltenham Festival, including Honeysuckle in the Champion Hurdle.

Her achievement in being crowned top jockey at Cheltenham was all the more sensational as she rode more winners than the entire number of British-trained winners at the Festival.
