President Michael D Higgins and his wife Sabina have confirmed they have Covid-19.
After displaying mild symptoms they both tested positive on antigen tests this morning.
They say they will self isolate and the President will continue to work from home.
Statement from Áras an Uachtaráin: "President and Sabina Higgins, having displayed mild COVID-19 symptoms this morning and having taken antigen tests that have tested positive, will be isolating for the next 7 days.
"The President while isolating is continuing to work from home."
