Presenting Percy back to winning ways in Listed Chase at Thurles

The now Gordon Elliott-trained Presenting Percy impressed in landing the Listed boomerang.ie Chase at Thurles this afternoon.

The former Cheltenham Festival winner had enough to see off the challenge of a strong field, including Kemboy and Monalee to register a six-and-a-half lengths victory on his seasonal reappearance.

Willie Mullins' Kemboy's chances were hampered by a poor jump at the last with Monalee finishing another couple of lengths back in third as Presenting Percy won for the first time since January of last year.

โ€œHe did it very well," winning jockey Jack Kennedy said after the race. "He had race-fitness on his side but he put in an exhibition of jumping and quickened up well at the back of the second-last.

โ€œI had sat on him previously at home, but he is very straightforward and is a dream to ride. He jumps and travels away and I was happy at all stages.

"I was delighted with the way he travelled and I was nearly half-taking him back going across the top I was going that easy.

โ€œThat win might do him the world of good and hopefully he can keep going after that.โ€
