The Cabinet Sub-Committee on Covid-19 will meet this afternoon to finalise the timeline for easing all restrictions.

The Government is due to publish the road map tomorrow.

There was broad agreement among sub-committee members about the easing of restrictions when they met on Friday.

They adjourned until today where they will nail down specific dates, which are expected to span over September and October.

Infectious Disease Specialist at the Royal College of Surgeons, Professor Sam McConkey, thinks the timing is right.

This morning the Taoiseach, Tánaiste and Arts Minister met with representatives from the live events sector to discuss its reopening, capacity at future events and the potential use of Covid-19 certificates.

Matt McGranaghan, from the Music and Entertainment Association said they would be pushing for supports for the sector to continue.

While some restrictions such as those around public transport will ease immediately, it's expected major changes won't happen until later in September.
