Ancient Roman mosaic floor discovered in Italy
Archaeologists in Italy made an incredible discovery this week.
A team working in a vineyard just outside the northern city of Verona have found a perfectly preserved mosaic floor.
According to the municipality of Negrar di Valpolicella, the find is part of an ancient Roman Villa.
Officials said the floor was revealed after, "countless decades of failed attempts."
A social media post revealed that part of the flooring and foundations of the Roman Villa were first discovered by scholars over a century ago.
The small town will now work towards turning the discovery into a tourist attraction.
However officials continued, "the result will not come soon and significant resources will be needed."
