Things are looking good!
Last month we wrote about the possibility of an NSYNC reunion as the latest trailer for the third Trolls movie (where Justin Timberlake voices the main character) heavily hints at a boyband past.
The rumours swirling from that also speculated that the band have reunited to voice characters in the movie and not only that, recorded brand new music together for the first time in 21 years.
Now it’s looking even better for fans that a reunion is imminent as 3 out of the 5 members have been spotted in New York City ahead of the MTV VMAs tomorrow night.
Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone and Lance Bass were all in New York City yesterday.
Meanwhile JC Chasez was photographed on a private plane (sounds promising) and Chris Kirkpatrick posted a 9/11 tribute to his Instagram page yesterday - a photo of an NYFD fire truck that looks like it was taken himself on location (that one is more of a stretch but we’ll take it).
The MTV VMAs are always a huge night in music (remembering iconic moments like Britney’s snake in 2001 and Kanye West interrupting Taylor Swift's speech in 2009) and this year they’ll be talking place at the Prudential Centre in New Jersey.
If all 5 members were to reunite at the VMAs this week, it would also mark 10 years since their last reunion at the VMAs. In 2013 the band came together on stage for Timberlake’s Video Vanguard Award medley.
Most recently, in 2019, they drove fans into a frenzy when 4 out of 5 band members joined Ariana Grande on stage during her Coachella set, performing “Break Up With Your Girlfriend, I’m Bored” and “Tearin’ Up My Heart,” without Timberlake.
So is a reunion imminent? You heard it here first.
