New plans have been announced to pedestrianise Dame Street in Dublin as part of the College Green Plaza.
A series of car-free trials have already taken place over weekends and on Culture Night.
Plans to pedestrianise the area were unsuccessful in 2018, but the City Council says new Bus Connects proposals would allow it to work.
The City Council says:
'Five options have been assessed using a multi criteria assessment (MCA) and two options have been recommended to take forward for further consideration.'
'Dublin City Council would at this stage like to get Stakeholders and the public’s views on these two options in order to inform our design process and allow us progress one of them to the point of seeking statutory approval.'
The consultation will run from today until the 15th of January.
