A peaceful demonstration is being organised in the city centre this lunchtime to mark World Animal Day.
The organisers hope to raise awareness about the pressure on rescue services , following a sharp increase in the number of animals being abandoned since Covid.
#WorldAnimalDay is the only day of the year that recognises ALL animals! 🐦🦘🐕🐝
What are first animals you'll see when you leave home today? Share them in the comments - or, better still, add a photo!

Lisa O'Connor from 'Companion Animal Advocates' says they're gathering at the Wolf Tone Statue on Stephens Green from 1pm.
She says they need more money to help abandoned or hurt animals.
''So what we're calling for is more funding for the rescues especially for smaller rescues around the country. Maybe a public campaign to highlight this crisis. It's really about raising public awareness and then putting the pressure on Government.''
