Retained firefighters have voted to accept proposals from the Workplace Relations Commission.
It's in relation to resolving their industrial dispute.
Among the recommendations are new pay scales, as well as addressing annual leave and minimum staffing levels.
SIPTU has welcomed the news but warns that while today's vote ends the current strike, it doesn't end that battle.
Brendan O'Brien, SIPTU Sector Organiser, says the ball now falls in the court of the local authorities:
"We need to fix the retained fire services and that requires urgent recruitment of additional firefighters".
Dublin has two retained fire stations - Skerries and Balbriggan.
