Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doesn't believe Jose Mourinho is finished at the highest level.

Mourinho was axed by United after they made their worst start to a league season in 29 years.

He told BeIN SPORTS that he still "belongs to top-level football" and that he is too young to retire.

Solskjaer has backed Mourinho to return to the game

His successor has hit the ground running. The caretaker boss has presided over six successive victories in all competitions. That's the best start ever by a new United manager.

Solskjaer is confident Mourinho will bounce back:

“Yeah, why shouldn’t he?

“Because he’s a fantastic manager and with the results he’s had, I don’t think he’ll be struggling to find work.”

United go in search of a 7th win on the spin as they face Brighton this weekend. In team news Ole Alexis Sanchez  is fit to play although Marouane Fellaini will be out for up to four weeks with a calf injury.

"There are small niggles as there always are at this point of the season. Smalling and Rojo just started running lightly so they are not fit yet.

"Alexis has trained all week so hopefully he will come through the session today and be available.

"Fellaini is the long-term one. He will be out for weeks.

"He will be at least three or four weeks. He has got a calf injury. And that is sad because there are x-factors in different players and we all know Fellaini’s x-factor.

"He will be working hard to get back for when all the big games are coming."
