Northern Ireland is going to close pubs and restaurants and extend the Halloween break for schools as part of a four-week 'circuit-breaker' lockdown.
The new restrictions, which come into effect on Friday, also mean no overnight stays in private homes, unless it's part of your social 'bubble'.
The government here is expected to decide whether to impose tougher restrictions on border counties as a result.
Restrictions
As part of the measures, the hospitality sector will close except for takeaways, while off licenses will shut after 8PM and no more than 25 people are allowed at weddings and funerals.
First Minister Arlene Foster announced the restrictions at a special sitting of the Assembly in the last hour.
The government here will make a decision later today on whether to impose tougher Covid-19 restrictions in border counties.
