Gardai say no one was injured after wooden materials and pallets were set alight near Sandwith Street yesterday evening.
The fire happened in a laneway area in Dublin 2 - where a protest had been taking place.
No arrests have been made to date, and enquiries into the matter are ongoing.
Gardaí had been attending the scene following reports of the demonstration, where one man in his 30s was arrested.
