Cocaine use in Ireland has doubled since 2003, with the drug most popular among 25 to 34 year old men.
According to a new report from the Health Research Board, 7 percent of the 6,000 people surveyed used illegal drugs in the last year.
Respondents aged 15–34 who lived in Dublin had the highest prevalence of recent drug use at just under 23%.
The study also found 7.4% of people reported using an illegal drug recently or in the last year.
According to the report, just over 17% are current tobacco users, with nearly a quarter smoking at least 20 cigarettes a day.
